I'm a wife, a mother, and CEO of a homebased candle business. After being in banking for nearly 16 years in Management~ I left Corporate America June 2005 to stay home with my 2 daughters. After just a couple months I found myself wrestling with the fact of feeling an obligation of continuing to help with the finance responsibilities. I was invited to attend a neighbors "Candle Party". I attended~ fell in love with the new concept of melting wax without burning a wick?? Who would have thought???? Loved the fragrance that was warming that night~ went home talked to my husband about it and signed up the very next morning~ to learn this was a "brand new party plan company" less than 1 year old. Been on the roller coaster ride ever since~ and have absolutely no regrets whatsoever.
My husband and I have also owned our own Tile and Marble business which we have turned over to our 30 year son to run and manage. We were General Contractors for custom homes, and partners in a Steel Fabrication Company. September 2009 Rick decided at the age of 47, to close the doors of those two business, retire from that and stay home to help me manage our Scentsy organization.
