I started my business in August of 2007 while I was living in beautiful
New Mexico. One of my favorite aspects of this business is the flexibility. I am originally from California, but spent most of my life living in Illinois and
Wisconsin.
I was a bartender for 10 years and a bar manager for 6 years before I moved out to
New Mexico.
I would work 50 to 70 hours a week, if not more. Being single, I was
always the one that covered shifts when people didn’t show up. I worked
every holiday and every weekend so the other employees could spend time
with their families.
I
didn’t want to tend bar any longer after I moved, so I had to go find a
“real job.” With today’s economy, it’s not any easy task to find one
that will pay the bills. I was fortunate enough to find a position that
paid well, and offered plenty of over time. I didn’t know anyone out
there, other than a few family members, so I spent a lot of time
online.
I
came across the Free Candle Drawing online, and was interested
immediately. I originally joined the Candle of the Month club was
simply because I love candles! Who wouldn’t want new candles every
month? With the training materials that I was receiving from our team,
I decided that maybe I could actually sell these too. I had a company
website, why not?
I
took some candles to work, and my co-workers loved them. When I went
out and people asked what I did for a living, I told them about my
candle business. I started promoting my business both on and off line
and couldn’t believe the response. This is a business that is very easy
to work, simply because the products are so great!
One
of my first online customers was Dave. He has always been a scented
candle burner but hadn’t known that there was such a difference in the
make up of candles. Dave has also been in different types of at home
businesses. We started talking about our businesses, and just about
everything under the sun. We built a strong bond, and quickly fell in
love. I moved out to
Delaware
in March to be near my best friend. The company I was working for
wanted me to move to PA so I wouldn’t “burn out” with the extra hour
plus drive. Not wanting to be that far from Dave, we decided to let the
job go and build the candle business. Dave immediately saw the
potential in this company and became a Distributor himself.
Dave and I married on August 15th.
We have big dreams for our future, and we know that with our businesses
we will be able to achieve them! Who would have thought that a Free
Candle Drawing link could have changed the course of someone’s life so
much?
