Herbalife Presents Humanitarian Award

  • The Herbalife Family Foundation presented its fifth annual Humanitarian Award tonight in downtown Los Angeles.

Herbalife independent distributors Mario and Mary Barreiro of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico were honored for their philanthropic efforts supporting their community.

The Barreiro?s are long-time supporters for a variety of causes, including charities that help children and adults living with HIV and AIDS, after school organizations that help to keep kids off the streets, and programs to improve nutrition for kids at risk.

They have also been major advocates of the Herbalife Family Foundation and its Casa Herbalife program that supports nutrition programs for children around the world. In the last two years the Barreiro?s have spearheaded the expansion of both fundraising and funding for charitable organizations in Mexico.

A donation of $10,000 will be made in the Barreiro?s name to the charity of their choice.

The Herbalife Family Foundation awards this honor to an Herbalife independent distributor who exemplifies the foundation?s mission and, through their outstanding involvement and dedication, have made a significant contribution to changing lives. Nominations are received from around the world and are evaluated based on the nominee?s philanthropic activity, community leadership, volunteerism and advocacy.
