Major League Soccer and CAA Sports announced the addition of three top international teams, along with the official title sponsor, to the 2011 Herbalife World Football Challenge. UEFA Champions League finalists FC Barcelona, along with Mexico's popular clubs CD (Chivas) Guadalajara and Club America, join the U.S.-based summer event, which is presented by global nutrition company, Herbalife.
Along with the previously announced Herbalife World Football Challenge match against Manchester United on Saturday, July 30 in the Washington D.C. area, FC Barcelona will travel to South Florida to face Chivas on Wednesday, August 3 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, FL (8:00 p.m. ET) and then move on to Texas to face Club America on Saturday, August 6 at Cowboys Stadium (4:00 p.m. ET).
The balance of CD Guadalajara and Club America?s participation in the challenge will be announced soon.
