USANA is Official Health Supplement Supplier of Korean National Handball Teams

  • SALT LAKE CITY, June 4, 2012 -- USANA Health Sciences, Inc., a global nutritional supplements company, today announced that it has become the official health supplement supplier of the Korean Men's and Women's National Handball Teams. Both squads will represent USANA during the imminent 2012 London Games.

"We are excited to be partnering with the Korean Men's and Women's National Handball Teams and are happy to supply them with the vital nutrients their bodies need to recover after a practice or game," said Sherman Ying, USANA's vice president of North Asia. "We look forward to watching them compete in July and wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the Summer Games."

Originated during the late 19th century, the fast paced game of Handball made its global debut at the Berlin 1936 Games and has since become one of the worlds most physically challenging indoor team sports. Handball is considered to be the second largest sport in Europe.

"Sometimes I feel like it's harder, in terms of physical strength, to compete with younger athletes, but USANA's products have given me more energy and have helped me recover faster after training or competition," said men's national handball player, Kyoung-Sin Yoon. "I am confident that USANA's products will assist us to successfully compete against other nations, and I am glad to have them as a sponsor."

The men's team will perform on the world stage for a second time and were recently named the Asian Handball Champions for the second consecutive year, raising their honors to ten titles.

The women's team currently holds two World Championship titles, nine Asian Handball Championship honors, and have consistently participated in the Summer Games since 1984, earning a bronze, three silver and two gold medals. This year will mark their seventh appearance at the international competition.

"I am very happy and grateful for the opportunity to use USANA products and be part of their impressive athlete sponsorship program," said Woo Sun-Hee, member of the women's national team. "I am concentrating on training with their products, and am convinced that they will assist me, and our team, with great results at the London Games."

The two teams join more than 600 other USANA sponsored athletes, including the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, WTA Tour, Great Britain Short Track Speedskating Team, and a multitude of professional athletes worldwide, who receive USANA's NSF and HFL-tested products.
