USANA Expands Scientific Advisory Council

  • SALT LAKE CITY, June 7, 2012 -- USANA Health Sciences, Inc., a global nutritional supplement company, today announced that Dr. Balz Frei, director and endowed chair of the prestigious Linus Pauling Institute (LPI), has joined the company's Scientific Advisory Council. Dr. Frei, a highly published scientific researcher and distinguished professor in the department of biochemistry and biophysics at Oregon State University, will be serving alongside existing council members: Chairperson Peter W. Rugg, M.D.; Monica Lewis, M.D.; Bart Moore, M.D.; Christine Wood, M.D.; Heather Tick, M.D.; and Dr. Tim Wood. Additionally, Dr. Susan Kleiner has joined USANA as a nutritional consultant, and Dr. Libby Weaver has joined USANA as a global health educator. Together, these health and wellness experts will provide valuable insight in their fields of expertise, from scientific research and consumer nutrition to effective weight loss strategies.

    Dr. Kleiner, a foremost authority on nutrition for strength, has extensive knowledge in sports nutrition, which will help USANA better support the hundreds of professional athletes who use their products.
