ACN Increases Charitable Support for Ronald McDonald House

  • July 30, 2010 ? As the final yellow steel beam ? covered with signatures and messages of support ? was anchored into place, ACN Inc. pledged to increase its donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.

ACN initially pledged a donation of $1.3 million to the construction of the facility, providing substantial progress toward the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte?s fundraising goals. But with the "Topping Off" ceremony completed, the company increased that support to $2 million.

"ACN is dedicated to seeing this project through," said ACN President and Co-Founder Greg Provenzano. ?This house is in our backyard, and it is our responsibility to support it.?

ACN?s additional donation ensures the house stays on track to open on schedule. The Charlotte Ronald McDonald House chapter has raised about $7.5 million of the $9 million needed to complete the build and pay for initial operations and maintenance costs.

ACN has been involved with the Ronald McDonald House Charity since 2008 when it began raising funds for local chapters at each of its International Training Events. At each event, ACN collects contributions from thousands of generous representatives and employees, and then ACN matches those contributions dollar-for-dollar. "We chose Ronald McDonald House Charities, because we could support them on both a global and a local level," Provenzano said. ?It?s an inspiring example of how one organization can have a global impact. When we think about all the families this charity has helped, we can?t help but feel honored to be a part of that.?

The "Topping Off" ceremony marked the end of the first stage of construction. If construction remains on schedule, the house will open in late March 2011. The house, which is located on the 1600 block of East Morehead Street, will contain 28 rooms to house families of seriously ill children being treated at Levin Children's Hospital or Hemby Children's Hospital.
