Inc 500 Ranks Scentsy Top Consumer Products and Services Company

  • MERIDIAN, Idaho--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Scentsy, Inc., a rapidly growing home fragrance company, has been named the No. 1 fastest-growing consumer products and services company in the country in the 2010 edition of the Inc. 500 list, published by Inc. magazine. Overall, Scentsy was No. 19 on the prestigious list of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

?We knew we were growing at an extraordinary pace, but the Inc. 500 ranking confirms the growth we have achieved is unmatched by all but a handful of companies? .?We knew we were growing at an extraordinary pace, but the Inc. 500 ranking confirms the growth we have achieved is unmatched by all but a handful of companies,? said Heidi Thompson, President and co-owner of Scentsy with her husband Orville. ?We are thrilled to be named one of the 20 fastest-growing companies in all of America, and we sincerely commend and thank our outstanding corporate team and our independent party consultants for maintaining the focus on quality, value and service through the challenges of such rapid growth.?

Scentsy earned its ranking on the Inc. 500 for increasing its annual revenues from $2,176,876 in 2006 to $178,375,434 in 2009, a cumulative growth rate of 8,094%. This was the first time Scentsy nominated itself for the list. Incredibly, the company grew at an even higher rate during the previous three-year period (2005-2008). It is notable that only seven companies among the top 200 had higher 2009 sales than Scentsy. The vast majority of companies on the Inc. 500 are much smaller.

In 2004, Scentsy opened its doors as a direct sales company, offering a safe, wickless alternative to burning open flame candles in homes and offices. Customers saw its flameless candles as not just a safer option but as a better option. Scentsy?s success can be attributed to a simple but compelling product line available through more than 70,000 Independent Consultants that sell the scented candles at home parties, through catalog or basket parties as well as online.

?At Scentsy we always strive to bring value to customers by creating and selling high-quality products that warm the heart, enliven the senses, and inspire the soul,? said Orville Thompson, Scentsy Chief Executive Officer and co-owner. ?We are humbled at the tremendous customer response and loyalty that our products have generated. And we are honored to be recognized by the Inc. 500, where such major companies as Microsoft and Oracle gained early exposure.?
