I know  I had been seeing a lot of buzz about the YouTube Slap over the last week or so and became concerned because

1. I am an active network marketer
2. I am a big user of video

Let me just start off by adding for all networkers that may read this, if you are an interNetwork Marketer or if you are using the internet to connect with and generate leads for your MLM business and you are not using video, you are fishing with small bait.  Video is perhaps the most powerful method of marketing you have at your disposal.  Some may argue with me on this, but I believe it is far more powerful that even the best PPC campaign.  I can get into that on another post but back to the "Slap".

So I wanted to make sure I jumped on the webinar with Brian & Norbert last night to see what this was all about.  Since I do a lot of video marketing, I was concerned.  I had not seen any fallout for my channel on YouTube and was very curious about what was going on, why it was such and issue for networkers, yet I had not seen any impact.  Had it just not happened to me yet?

After watching the webinar I realized that I dont employ the techniques that seem to be seeing the penalty.

• I dont maintain multiple channels
• I dont spam my descriptions
• I dont use video to "pitch" or sell

What it boils down to is this.  Use video to inform and build relationships.  I thought online networkers understood that by now.  Thats was all of us are teaching, at least thats what I teach to networkers and thats what I write about on my blog.  Create videos with good content and that inform your viewer about you, your product and your company.

Do clean and honest keyword research, write clean and infomative descriptions and titles.  I never understood spam descriptions.  I totally dominate google for my target keywords and I've never used a spam title or description and more importantly, my YouTube channel is still up and running fine.

Learn to use video as an attraction marketing tool and not as a way to spam the search engines.  I tell you one other secret, write good descriptions and it makes your SERP results a whole lot more appealing to viewers and you also stand a good chance of your videos going viral if you inform rather than sell.
