Happy Wednesday. I totally forgot about this network until this morning when received an email. I am looking forward to connecting with some awesome entrepreneurs!
About Me
About Me
My name is Judy Bonacci. No Mrs. please; my friends call me Judy. Born and raised in Dallas. Not many of us left, I mean home grown. I’m a "Baby Boomer". Before you think "Old Lady", don’t. Age is just a number. “You’re as young as you feel”. That’s what “they” say. It’s the truth. My grandson considers me eternally 30. “MeMe” took him parasailing and ejection seat bungee jumping. Seems I’ve had a lot of adventures like that.
In the 60’s “I” became “me”. The first of many hats came when I was offered a job as a security investigator for a department store chain. I can still remember catching my first shoplifter; oh the high. It was a “fit”. Two years later, Head of Security. I had a sharp eye. I learned quickly it’s all in the fine details. There was internal theft going on. Not on my watch, busted. The mid 70’s came and I chose love over career. Hey, no regrets. I just changed hats
While wearing my “homemaker” hat, I wanted a career too. Hey, a receptionist. Lily Tomlin had nothing on me. That switchboard rang off the wall. No worries, I had it down and loved it; but I still needed more…Cowboy Cheerleaders auditions. Yes, I tried out. I made it to the finals. I didn’t leave there a loser. They asked me to be a Texette; their version of an usher. Hey, I still got to wear a really cool ensemble!
My husband was offered a job in Nebraska. Nebraska, what’s in Nebraska? Hey, I’m flexible; off to Nebraska! Back to security I went. Three months later, transfer to Des Moines. Looking through the paper, there’s an ad for a DJ. Yes, spinning records. That hat fit too. A female D.J.
Enter another transfer, Miami. The “cocktail waitress” hat fit. There I was, in the hottest club in Miami; doing it. But I had to find me a day gig. The late nights were killer. I took a job as an apartment leasing agent. Weeks later, a management position. While in Florida I had the opportunity to do a mystery shop for the Breakers Hotel. Oh, what a hotel. 36 pages later, they had their report.
By mid-80’s Tampa, there I was. Hey, you can’t say I’m not flexible. After hanging out in Tampa and doing my singing telegram thing I just had to go home, back to Dallas. Once there, the excitement didn’t end. A bartender, running a Housekeeping Service, getting remarried, and raising a grandson.
This is where the Mystery Shop adventure starts. See, I think I’d be perfect for it. I’m like a chameleon of sorts, I can change colors. Talk about different hats, they a
