I think Scentsy is solid. I don't know from experience of course, but I have yet to hear a single bad thing about them. I tend to appreciate any product that at the very least; is original. I don't know for sure if they are the first to ever invent an electric candle, which is really a more direct term than "wick-less" but they focused on it and made it more popular none the less. They seem to treat their reps well, and saying as there are more and more joining all the time, I assume there is some money to made. I've stated it before in other threads, that I likely won't join an mlm company myself, but if I were going to give it a shot, Scentsy would be on my list of ten to consider.

Great advice Travis, and I really like Scentsy, H. Harris. I'm not really sure what their comp plan offers but I recently read an article about how good the founders are to the reps, offering trips to Disney World etc. As a woman who really appreciates candle light I think I prefer the natural light you get from a candle flame, but I can also see the value in Scentsy wickless candles and I love my own. I use it in places where it could possibly be knocked down or tipped over. I also think its a very marketable product and stands on its own as far as advertising its "impressivness".

Pleasure to meet you h.harris, I'm Travis and I have been working with Melaleuca almost since launch. The journey you're about to embark on is a full of many possibilities and I'm pleased to say that the company you chose to start with is more than legit. My first piece of advice would be to make sure you understand the road ahead, plan, research, and use the information that is around you. When I was a youngster I spent a great deal of time dreaming about my own business. I managed to fantasize about how much money I'd make, what I'd wear, how important I'd appear to those around me, but never gave much thought to the work involved with building that kind of life. When I first started out, there was no Internet, and research was based solely on business knowledge, having a knack with numbers, and being aggressive as all hell whether you were going door to door or setting up a presentation for a gathering. You my friend, have the world at your fingertips, and I'd like to take the opportunity to give you a few bits of information that I wish someone gave me when I started.

One place that does have a few helpful hints, and makes a great starting point are the posts in the (Work From Home Articles) section of these forums. Repspace is a fantastic source of free information ranging from how to do it and what companies to do it with. Instead of fantasizing like I did, gather as much knowledge as possible and I promise you will succeed with a little drive and durability. Some weeks will be better than others, but stick with it and they will all slowly improve over time.

Learn the ins and outs of Scentsy's compensation plan, focus on who your target demographic is, learn the product so that you can demonstrate how it works and even know where the materials come from to make it. Customers will have confidence in anyone who knows the product the way an electrician knows wire. Be aggressive with your energy but not your approach. Instead of consistently pushing the same 50 people to buy, consistently push to expand the amount of people you approach. Utilize the Internet as much as possible, as it doesn't cost much to use a build-it-yourself program to build a great web site and pay for hosting. Selling online is a fast and easy answer for living and trying to sell in a remote area. Be confident, but not arrogant, be honest, and most importantly, present your product in a lighthearted and easy going manner. Products rarely sell themselves, what you are really trying to do is sell yourself, and what you present must be appealing to the person.

Don't let anyone put you down, or tell you, you can't do it, especially family members and people whose opinions really effect you. These are other areas that almost stifled my own climb up. I hope this helps a little, and if you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask, and there are others here who will likely chime in as well.

These are perfect, and don't worry about me burning out the oil burner I have, its actually really thick, its an old bronze incense burner my mom gave me but the bottom is so big I put oils in it like eucalyptus. These flavors kick ass, and I'm going to order a Cherry Lime aid and a Blueberry, I didn't even think of Blueberry until I saw it on your list. Thanks a million, the prices aren't bad either......You're right about the products being available here, there, and everywhere. At this point my only issue is that I can't decide which online rep of the 30 dozen I found will mail it to me the fastest, or does Scentsy ship the stuff out? Shit I need to go look and se if that's the case, then it will be a question of who processes the fastest. I might even pay more and order from a larger site, I mean how can you even tell fo sho if a rep is still even in business and didn't just leave the site up and dormant, or if they only check it like once every 3 days; screw that. I did a little snooping for you and they have a really nice Cappuccino bar, which I have ordered and it smells a little bit like chocolate, its absolutely heavenly and I can't believe you can only get it a couple times a year.

Here is the deal on Scentsy bars, you can order them separately if you want, and you should have no problem burning them if your oil burner is thick enough, but I would think twice because if it isn't you're going to burn the wax and it might not smell very good. Normally wax breaks down into a vapor, but if its cooked long enough it begins to change, and it might even be hard to clean out of your burner. What if you want to stop using wax and the smells are burnt into it anyway? It may not actually be a bad idea to just order a Scentsy warmer, they are much safer and really cheap! One thing I really like about Scentsy is that you don't have to be a cult member to obtain products.

I've been curious about these bars, and I keep reading that they are too strong....I'm kind of amazed by this when I hear it because, the average girl in the city I live has so much perfume on that people in other countries die from the toxicity, so it makes me wonder....if people like this are saying the smell is too strong, it must be BAD!. The problem is, I have actually been wanting to buy some of the scents to burn in my oil burner, but I don't want to if they are completely overpowering, plus I live in a relatively small apartment. So my question is, does anyone have any experience using Scentsy products, and if so, do they have any sweet scents, like grape, or cucumber/melon etc...I don't like floral smells at all, and want something like coconut, or chocolate, or cinnamon, or my most desired of all; cherry....anyone have any info?

I think this is a very smart idea, because many people like things they believe can no longer be attained. It is something that can tap into that part of one that wishes to hold what can no longer grasp. Very smart for Scentsy :) I also feel that it is nice for many people to have access to those things because not all popular scents and flavors should be greater than those more obscure ones. One thing that I noticed in the years I have spent in The United States and the UK is that many Western companies are beginning to expand their scents and aromas when it comes to candles, and flavored varieties of air fresheners. I remember two decades ago, it was very difficult to find certain kinds of incense sticks and now they are quite popular and successfully imported. Great for you Scentsy!

I was "researching" or ok, actually did a casual search of Scentsy, and came across what I think is actually a really cool idea on Scentsy's part. How many of you have absolutely loved a flavor, a scent, a type of shirt, maybe that old pack of Gatorgum that you just can't have anymore because like many other good things, it's been discontinued. Scentsy has made one particularly cool move in the direction of preventing this from happening, and they call it their annual: "Scentsy bring back my bar" campaign.

What Scentsy does is, they bring back 20 of the most requested scents from people and make them available to anyone in small or large quantities. Its pretty ingenious if you ask me because most people that have the fear of not getting enough of something they really want will have no problem ordering a decent amount of it, which naturally amounts to higher profits for Scentsy. So you and I get our beloved chocolate covered pizza scent, and Scentsy sells in bulk what they couldn't really maintain year round.

Scentsy is one of those companies you will catch me saying good things about, which I admit is rare. Its a simple product, it sells for a reasonable price, and it can be produced with variety, with limitless patterns, holiday themes, and that goes for both the Scentsy Warmer, and the Scent bars. People like things like these because they are easily accessible for people of most financial situations and they also appeal to the collector mentality, and if you hook them, you hook profits.

I can name numerous occasions where a brand, or a flavor or a model of something was no longer available and left me feeling sorry that I hadn't thought ahead of time and grabbed a few either for use or sentimental purposes, and I think a lot of people can relate to that. Scentsy has thought up a pretty cool way to deal with that and give their customers what they want.

I've really enjoyed my Scentsy candle but only a large rooms. I find the fragrance to be a little bit too much for me personally if I put it in my back office. I have consistently tried it in several different rooms and with various scents and the product gives off a very, very strong fragrance. It outperforms Glade Plug-ins bar none if you use it for that purpose however, and you can't go wrong with feeling safer should you leave to run errands. I would never leave my home with a candle burning, but I do all the time with a Scentsy burner. I ordered my candle online and never dealt with a Scentsy representative so I can't say whether they are hard to reach or not but unless you're interested in becoming a rep I wouldn't worry too much about getting in contact with one. I rather enjoy ordering a product and dodging any recruiting pitches. I also feel that the prices are fairly stable no matter how you buy it since all the distributors are in a way, competing with one another.

I am happy to tell you that you can find access to Scentsy products almost everywhere on the Internet. It is true that in my family nothing could replace the beauty and simplicity of a candle, but I have seen the Scentsy products being used in the restroom of my gym and they really are a wonderful way to avoid many fire hazards, and they really are very pleasant to see and smell.

Also I would like to tell you that the products will generally stay in the same price range from the bigger sites, which are all operated by Scentsy Consultants. As far as getting in touch with a Scentsy Distributor, I am not certain of this difficulty but with so many Scentsy product sites on the Internet I would be very surprised if it did prove to be a difficult task.

My husband bought me a scentsy candle warmer and we were wondering if there is any way other than the website to order refill products?

Is it difficult to get in touch with a scentsy distributor? Will the item cost more through the consultant?

Hi Penny, my husband ordered a Scentsy warmer on my last birthday and they are really neat! My only complaint is that if you don't get the right scent, and you don't use a <smaller than recommended> amount of Scentsy wax, it can be a little bit overpowering. Ok, really overpowering, but the burners are beautiful and you can choose from tons of them. They also have seasonal editions that come out for the holidays. The way a Scentsy warmer works is that the container insulates the heat from a bulb inside the warmer itself, which heats up the entire container. The wax melts and then gives off the scent, which is extremely effective.....

The thing I really like about Scentsy products are that they are basically safer for your home. I have a friend that visits often and her 7 year old is known for taking his GI Joe toys and holding them over a candle flame to melt and disfigure them (boys).... He was doing this in my bathroom all the time because I used to love to light a cherry almond candle and let it burn to keep it smelling nice, which usually wasn't a problem since my kids are all grown. Instead of being annoyed because I have to blow the candle out, now I can just use the Scentsy wickless candle and the problem is solved.

Scentsy makes all kinds of scents, and to be fair, everyone's sense of smell is different, I think they can be a bit potent but overall very refreshing, and you have over a hundred choices to choose from, which means somewhere in there is a scent you don't mind an over abundance of. Since my last birthday, I order us 3 more, one for my mother another for my daughter and one more for our downstairs card room. Everyone seems to really enjoy them and if I didn't have a few other irons in the fire I would consider becoming a Scentsy consultant.

I own a scentsy warmer, and I love it. Not only are the available scents great, you can use other products as well if you want, like soy or eco-friendly candle warmer items. We leave it on all night in the bathroom as a nightlight for our youngest. It makes a wonderful home décor item, and it keeps the bathroom smelling great. This unit never gets hot enough to be a hazard, but we do keep it on the vanity and clear of any other items.

Have you heard the amazing news! Scentsy will be opening their doors in the U.K. and Germany this spring and expanding Scentsy Wickless Candles! Now from what I gather, as a Scentsy consultant in the USA we can sponser any individuals looking to grow a join Scentsy and start a candle business of their own. At this point in time it does not sound like we can sell products over seas to these countries.

 I also understand that it will be more of a "soft launch" and not all Scentsy products that we have in the States will initially be available.
